Place a few slices in a cup, pour 8 fl oz (240 mL) of boiling water over them, and steep for 3 to 5 minutes.
How do you make ginseng chicken soup with the slices?
The pack recipe serves 3 to 4: half a chicken cut into 3 to 4 pieces, 1.4 oz (40 g) of ginseng slices, 54 fl oz (1.6 L) of water, a pinch of salt and pepper, and 2 to 3 dried dates if you like.
Blanch the chicken in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain. Put the chicken and the rest of the ingredients in a pot with the water, bring to a boil, and keep it on high heat for 10 minutes. Lower the heat and simmer for 40 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
At 40 g per pot, one 150 g box covers about three batches of soup.
